Kelly Tolhurst: Minister for Small Business

Kelly Tolhurst was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and Minister for Small Business, Consumers and Corporate Responsibility on 19 July 2018. She was previously a Government Whip, PPS to the Secretary of State for Business Greg Clark MP.

Kelly was born and raised in Rochester and went into work from school, eventually making a career in marketing. From 2008 Kelly ran her own small business, a marine surveying company, called Tolhurst Associates. Prior to her election Kelly was formerly a councillor in Medway Council, latterly holding the brief for Educational Attainment and Improvement.

She has been the Member of Parliament for Rochester and Strood since the May 2015 general election.
