Lucy Hedges

Lucy is a journalist, presenter and live host specialising in technology, whose obsession with gadgets began back in the 90s when middle-of-the-night SNES marathons were considered normal. Lucy began her career writing for gadget website Shiny Shiny, then went on to become multimedia editor for Stuff magazine, and is now Technology Editor for Metro, the world’s largest free newspaper and the third biggest newspaper in the UK. Lucy has been one of the presenters on the BBC Worldwide Travel Show for the last two years and has just finished filming a brand new travel series for Channel 4 which will air in the Spring 2018. She is a frequent technology speaker at Grand Designs Live and has appeared across a number of TV and radio platforms including CBBC’s Technobabble, Dick and Dom’s Absolute Genius, Lauren Laverne’s BBC 6 Morning Show, BBC Radio, QVC, London Live and Planet of the Apps.

Lucy has been a regular guest speaker at Gadget Show Live and has hosted a number of live events for tech companies including Shutterstock, Mastercard, Unilever, Dolby and Adobe. She has also worked with big brands from Sony, LG and Samsung, to Men’s Fitness, Intel, O2 and Volkswagen, presenting video content; while as a voiceover artist, she has worked with the BBC, Pure and Tesco.

Lucy has a passion for all things tech and has a depth of knowledge and expertise across a variety of topics in the field. But perhaps most importantly, she loves disproving the gender assumption that girls are not as gadget-savvy as the boys.
